In den Hauptrollen: Oud, Schalmei, Akkordeon, Sax, Rahmentrommel, Tuba, Gitarre, Congas, Cello, Hammond B3, Steirische Knöpferlharmonika, Violine, Cajon, Stimme und Klavier.
Beseelt durch die hochkarätigsten Musiker aller Frauen und Herren Länder bzw. deren Musikkulturen, zaubern sie einen klingenden Äther aus orientalischer Folklore, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Ethno, Austro und natürlich immer wieder Klassik.

Aber SCURDIA ist nicht einfach „nur“ Musik vom Feinsten. Markus Schirmer, sein künstlerisches Alter Ego, der orientalische Oud-Meister Risgar Koshnaw und deren Freundesschar haben noch etwas ganz anderes im Sinn: Sie wollen starre Grenzen gegen neue Perspektiven eintauschen.
Durch Hinfühlen, Zuhören, Annähern entsteht in spontaner Improvisation Freches, Verblüffendes, Intimes und gibt dabei eine völlig frische Sicht auf die Musik und ihren unermesslichen Reichtum frei.
Und so zieht diese kunterbunte Virtuosenbande los, erobert spielerisch Neuland, bis Vielfalt plötzlich als Einheit gelebt, und scheinbar Unvereinbares in fröhlicher Selbstverständlichkeit zelebriert wird.

Markus Schirmer, his artistic alter ego, the oriental Oud-Master, Risgar Koshnaw and all their companions have something else in mind: they want to replace the blinders of old perspectives with what could be called “mind blowing music without borders”.
By drawing closer together, listening and empathizing with each other, they channel into existence spontaneous music that is saucy, astonishing and intimate, giving us a completely fresh view of music and the immense wealth that it possesses. derstanding.So goes the colourful virtuoso gang to work. And as they playfully conquer new territories, their diversity suddenly becomes an experience of unity, and that which seemed to be obvious incompatibility gives way to a joyful celebration of self-self-understanding.
